Good storytelling is a local experience to universal emotion.

My mother was a wonderful storyteller. After my father left for work and my sister went to kindergarten, I had the best time of the day, having my mother all to myself. My mother's stories were so vivid, like watching a movie right before my eyes. I would become a young version of her in her stories, running around the hills behind her house. Sometimes, I would be my grandmother, sternly scolding the servants, or even my great-grandfather, riding across the plains of Manchuria by train. For a young child who couldn't even read, my mother was both my library and my cinema. As a child, I loved seeing and hearing things. Growing up, I wanted to pursue drawing and storytelling as a career. Now, I listen to other people's stories and share them with others through a camera and microphone.
